That’s the first thing to know before buying any replacement part.

The board itself will have a part number printed on it, usually starting with 41A, 41C, or 41D, followed by four more digits. You’ll find it by removing the opener’s light cover and looking at the circuit board inside. That number matters more than the Amarr model name. A board from a LiftMaster 8550 will not run a Chamberlain B970, even though both are “Amarr compatible” openers, because the firmware and connector layout differ between series. Signs Your Amarr Opener Logic Board Is Failing

• Remote works only from a few feet away. The receiver circuit on the board is degrading. You’ll notice the range shrinking over weeks, not days. In Clearwater’s humidity, corrosion on the board’s antenna connection accelerates this.
• Wall button works, remotes don’t. The board’s receiver is no longer decoding the rolling code signal. The wall button uses a different circuit path, so it keeps working while the remotes go dead. This is the classic early symptom.
• Door reverses immediately after touching the floor. The board is misreading the travel limit settings or the force sensor input. It thinks it hit an obstruction. You’ll see the lights flash a diagnostic code, usually 4 or 5 blinks on LiftMaster-built Amarr units.
• Opener runs for a second, then stops. The board is losing communication with the RPM sensor or the capacitor circuit. It starts the motor, gets no confirmation the motor is spinning at the right speed, and shuts down as a safety measure.
• Clicking from the opener, but no motor movement. The relay on the board is firing, but the output circuit that sends power to the motor has failed. This one mimics a dead capacitor, which is why we test before we quote.
